What is a PCB ?

PCB, printed circuit board, is the carrier of electrical connection and the support of electronic components. It achieves point-to-point connection and prints the components on the common substrate based on the predefined design, achieving circuit miniaturization and intuitiveness. It is indispensable to the mass production of fixed circuits and the optimization of electrical appliance layout.
 
PCB was developed by Austrian Paul Eisler and first utilized radio equipment in 1936. Printed circuit board technology has been in widespread use since the mid-1950s and has dominated the electronics industry.
 
PCBs are classified as single-sided, double-sided, and multilayer boards according to their composition. Single-sided boards have one wire layer, double-sided boards have two, and multilayer boards have more. Flexible circuit boards are combined with rigid ones by processes like press-fit to produce rigid-flexible boards, which have both FPC and PCB characteristics.
